Barry Norman's name is synonymous with film. Son of film producer and director Leslie Norman, he left Fleet Street to become the country's best-loved television film critic, conducting the BBC's flagship film program for nearly twenty years. He also presented many award-winning documentaries about the movie world, winning the Richard Dimbleby BAFTA award and hosting Sky TV's Filmnight, until he announced his final departure from constantly sitting in darkened rooms.
